Ming Day!

On the 23rd of November, West Island hosted it's 2nd Dynasty Day of the year, Ming Day!

Everyone was dressed in a beautiful sapphire shade of blue to support Ming, whilst a very busy and successful bake sale occurred as well. The Dynasty captains had a hectic but fun time advertising and selling the cakes! All the profits go to the school’s charity fund, which is sent by the Service Committee to all the great causes we support.

Ming Day is also the first dynasty day of the year which had performances by many of our very own talented singers and dancers! More thanks goes to those who performed, it was a series fantastic and scintillating performances!

Here are some more photos of the day!
As you can see, Dynasty Captain Krishna is enjoying himself very much, wearing bright colour of blue!

TEFL LOCAL LINK

TEFL Local Link

Hi there

Just want to take this opportunity to promote a school activity, TEFL Local Link.
Mr Mason asked us to join one afternoon to help out because the activity was short on students.  Not really knowing what the activity was, we volunteered to help (IOCs being over) and had a great time.

TEFL Local Link is focused on interacting with students from a local school YCK2.  There we helped students prepare for their upcoming english orals.  If you enjoy teaching english, want to give back to the community and meet some charming local students, join Local Link!  If you're interested, contact Mr Mason for more details

Diwalli Ball

Namaste!

Sorry it's been a while!
A lot of things have been happening, we will be putting up loads of new posts.

Yet another fantastic Diwali Ball has passed.
This year's Diwali was based on the journey of three tourists in India.  The performance was full of beautiful and complicated dances. A highlight of the night was the wonderful 'Mum's dance.  Mothers, you were fantastic!

Another highlight, of course, Rhea's Chai Walla!

(We Indians are so respectful, even our biscuits are called parle G!)

Special shout out to the Diwali event's committee, Natasha, Nandini, Karan and Amrita.  All of you Desi girls and boy did a fantastic job in creating this memorable celebration of the Festival of Lights.  Good luck to the Year 12s who need to top this night! Thank you to Rhea for choreographing a lovely finale dance and Mr Hood for enduring all of our rehearsals.

It was a wonderfully bittersweet night, the Year 13s last Diwali ball.  I for one wished that the night would never end.  Subha Hone Na De.
